Central Office

DMP Administration

The CDE Central Office houses the administration department for the Diabetes Management Programme (DMP).

Specialised sub-departments cater for all aspects of the programme:

  • Membership management
  • Provider management and clinical audit
  • Client (medical scheme) liaison
  • Data and Reporting
  • Hospitalisation case management
  • Accounts management
  • Chronic medication management
  • Patient Care Programme management

The DMP licenses the renowned “NEXUS” administration platform, which has comprehensive membership, managed healthcare, communications and financial capabilities. In addition, world class disaster recovery protocols ensure that all data is secure and safe. The NEXUS system is based on latest Oracle 10 architecture.

Peter Black, CEO of the DMP says:

"The systems and procedures of the DMP have evolved over time to be robust. However, we are continually striving to be ahead of the game. We cannot afford to sit still, and as such, we ensure that our systems and the way we do business remains relevant and world-class. Our currency is data, and our systems allow us to use data effectively.”

Client medical aid schemes regularly receive a number of reports, including:

  • Annual outcomes reports (clinical outcomes are the main focus)
  • Risk Equalisation Fund (REF) reports
  • IFRS audit reports
  • Membership reports

"Member experience" is an important concept, and our membership department strives to ensure that every single time a member of the programme is interacted with, the experience for the member is good. First time query resolution is not just a catch-phrase for us. We expect it, and we know our members expect it.

The DMP staff all enjoy their work, and this is apparent in the quality of their work and interaction with all stakeholders.
